Hair loss and balding is a condition that occurs in roughly 40 percent of the population in one form or another. It is most prevalent in men, but does occur in women. We just do not see it due to wigs and the fact that women are more likely to seek medical help for this condition. It could be as simple as a receding hairline, or just thinning more than usual.

Hair loss is a problem that we usually attribute to middle aged males. What is not as apparent is that women also suffer from this problem. We just do not see it as most women will cover it up with a wig, weaves, etc. Once it has started it is important to find the cause and reverse it, if possible, before it leads to unsightly balding and permanent loss.

Hair loss can affect both men and women, it can be caused by a number of different reasons. It can be caused by genetics, your age, or the presence of high levels of male hormones known as androgens.

Loss of hair (or alepecia) can be very upsetting and disturbing for either sex to face, people get so caught up with losing hair that they will try to treat the symptoms rather than the cause.
